Maroochydore has long been one of the most popular tourist destinations on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. It is located just north of Mooloolaba and is easily accessed from both Brisbane and Australia’s other capitals of Sydney and Melbourne in the south. There is a domestic airport at Marcoola with regular flights from all southern cities and there is an international airport in Brisbane for international visitors. Maroochydore is about one hours drive from Brisbane along a modern motorway so it is a very convenient location to visit. Maroochydore is located right on the beach and riverfront so there is a choice between a fabulous surfing beach and calm water inlets for boating and fishing activities. This attraction should not be missed as it is of world standard and there is fun, excitement and educational information and displays for the entire family. Under Water World is located on the river front at Mooloolaba and this will also provide interesting and educational information for all the family. The Eumundi markets are world famous and if you like a bit of shopping and haggling then this is the place for you. A great destination for a day out and a family picnic is a visit to the Malany and Mapleton district or a drive into the Glasshouse Mountains.
