The Sunshine Coast is located about one hours drive north of Brisbane in the south east corner of Australia’s most popular holiday state of Queensland. It is well known as one of the country’s most popular family holiday destinations and there are a number of tourist hotspots through out the region. In the south lies the city of Caloundra which has frontage to both the Pacific Ocean and the more protected waters of Moreton Bay and Pumicestone passage behind Bribie Island. This combination provides excellent surfing beaches, calm water beaches and excellent fishing areas. To the north lies Mooloolaba at the mouth of the Maroochy river and here you will find world famous surfing beaches alongside chic esplanade accommodation, cafes and restaurants. Maroochydore lies a little further north and this has been a favorite family holiday destination for decades. Great beaches, calm water estuaries and all the other accouterments that are needed for a great holiday all abound here. Coolum, Noosa and Rainbow Beach are further north and complete a section of Australia’s coastline that provides all the best in holiday facilities, attractions and accommodation that you could imagine. |
